Reliance's JioPhone Next, a smartphone in collaboration with Google will start at a pricing of Rs 6,499 and start selling from Diwali, the company confirmed in a statement. However, Jio will offer some schemes where users will be able to purchase the phone for as little as Rs 1,999 and pay the rest of the amount through EMI balance schemes.
JioPhone Next is the most affordable smartphone powered by Qualcomm processor and will run Pragati OS based on Android. Jio also pointed out that Pragati OS is an improved version of Android designed especially for JioPhone Next. The phone will support 10 Indian languages and translate on-screen and read to the user in his or her language.
